B.A. (Buddhism)
Program Duration: 3 years
Subjects Taught (1st year):
- First Semester – Vinaya Studies, Sutta Studies, Abhidhamma Studies, Buddhist Meditation, English
- Second Semester – Buddhist History, Buddhist Philosophy , Buddhist Psychology, Myanmar Literature, English
Subjects Taught (2nd year):
- First Semester – Vinaya Studies, Sutta Studies, Abhidhamma Studies, Buddhist Meditation, English
- Second Semester – Buddhist History, Buddhist Philosophy ,Buddhist Psychology, Pali Literature, English
Subjects Taught (3rd year):
- First Semester – Vinaya Studies, Sutta Studies, Abhidhamma Studies, English
- Second Semester – Buddhist History, Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Psychology, Research Methodology, English
Admission Requirements:
- Bhikkhus who holds a diploma from a Buddhist University (OR) Dhammācariya title, recognized by the government, in addition to having passed Pathamagyi examination
- Must be under 30 years of age
Note:
- Must be in good health
- Must sit entrance exams
- Must present Letter of Recommendation from your respective teacher
- Must abide by University Hostel Rules
- Must be able to present original copies of certificate(s), grade report card and other supporting documents regarding the classes completed. Must submit photocopies of the documents, along with the application form(s).
- English language test, general knowledge test and in-person test will be conducted upon entrance exam.
Scripture Writing:
- In your final year, you must submit B.A. (Buddhism) article written in either Myanmar or English, to respective departments.
Qualified Monks, Nuns and Laypersons are to be enrolled as on-campus students at Dhammaduta Buddhist University (Main Campus), 10 Mile Hill, Bago.
